Boris Johnson held a press conference for children this week where he spoke to the young audience about climate change. But Mr Johnson, who was joined by WWF UK’s chief executive Tanya Steele, joked people should be fed to animals to address biodiversity issues after it was pointed out only 3 percent of the world is left for the wild. Nigel Farage exclaimed on his GB News show at the awkward joke and jokingly pondered whether Mr Johnson had “lost his marbles”.
Speaking on GB News, Mr Farage played a clip of the Prime Minister at his 8-12-year-old press conference where he discussed the state of the planet.
In the clip, Ms Steele said: “I think we need to bring nature back.
“Our planet, 97 per cent of the mass of mammals on this planet is humans and our animals, our domestic animals, just 3 per cent is left for the wild.”
Mr Johnson could be heard in the background calling it “sad” but came up with his suggestion: “We could feed some of the human beings to the animals, that would, that would be…”
Ms Steele jokingly replied: “We could have a vote later and ask if there’s any candidates.“
A stunned Mr Farage grimaced and shouted: “What is he on about?!
“And I was told he gave up drinking for Carrie’s pregnancy! I’m not sure I believe him listening to comments like that, he seems to have lost his marbles.
“A new concept there introduced, not only are we going to rewild 30 percent of British agricultural land we’re now going to rewild the oceans.
Nigel Farage hits out at Boris Johnson's 'green agenda'
“I don’t know what any of it means, but once again, we see the Prime Minister, absolutely, completely in the grip of the Richmond greens.
“For whom a brand new £12,000 heat pump doesn’t really matter.”
The PM’s official spokesman later said: “I think most people took that in the nature in which it was intended – not to be taken seriously.”
Mr Johnson revealed he was going teetotal during Carrie’s pregnancy who is due around Christmas.
At the same press conference, Mr Johnson also admitted that plastic recycling “doesn’t work”.

During the press conference at No 10, he said: “Recycling isn’t the answer. Recycling, it doesn’t begin to address the problem.”
Ms Steele said: “We have to reduce, we have to reuse – I do think we need to do a little bit of recycling, PM, and have some system to do so.”
The Prime Minister then remarked, “It doesn’t work”.
He added: “We need as many people as possible to go to net zero so that they are not producing too much carbon dioxide by the middle of the century.
“Now, I think it can be done. It’s going to be very, very tough, this summit. And I’m very worried because it might go wrong and we might not get the agreements that we need.
“It’s touch and go.”
