Brit cab driver dad dies ‘from Covid-19 after catching it off customer’s cash’

A British black cab driver dad died of coronavirus after catching the deadly bug off customer's cash, his devastated family believe.

Tragic Spencer Kurash, 56, died at his home in Chigwell, Essex, after falling ill in mid-March.

The dad had bravely continued to go to work in an effort to ferry people around the capital city as transport began shutting down.

He started feeling unwell on March 18 and was forced to self-isolate at home but his condition rapidly declined.

Last Wednesday he collapsed in the home, leaving his frantic wife desperately trying to revive him but tragically he died.

The Spurs season ticket holder was not a confirmed coronavirus case as he had not be tested, but family fear he was a victim of the killer bug that is currently tearing through the globe.

His daughter, Natasha, told the Sunday Mirror the family felt he may have contracted the bug while at work.

She said: "It could have been an infected passenger who handed over money. It’s just devastating.”

The harrowing claims come as the UK suffered its record day of deaths with 260 more announced on Saturday – bringing the grim total to over 1,000.

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who himself has been diagnosed with the potentially lethal disease, has written a letter that will be posted to 30million home across the UK.

In it, he warns that the situation will get worse before it gets better, and pleads with people to stay in their homes.

He writes: "It's important for me to level with you – we know things will get worse before they get better.

"But we are making the right preparations, and the more we all follow the rules, the fewer lives will be lost and the sooner life can return to normal."

The Prime Minster also warns that he could impose stricter lockdown measures to tackle the outbreak,

He said: "We will not hesitate to go further if that is what the scientific and medical advice tells us we must do."
