Mr Trump beat Mrs Clinton in 2016 to win the presidency, in a major upset according to experts. Mr Trump won 304 electoral college votes to Mrs Clinton’s 227, despite her winning almost 2.9 million more votes. On November 3, Mr Trump will go against former Vice President and presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden.
In an interview with The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah, Mrs Clinton issued her grave assessment that Mr Trump may not “go quietly” if he loses the election.
She said: “I think it’s a fair point to raise as to whether or not if he loses he’s going to go quietly or not, and we have to be ready for that.”
She added that the she wants the election to be “fair”.
Mrs Clinton said: “If people get to vote and they, for whatever reason, vote for Donald Trump, OK.
“We’ll accept it.
“Not happily, but I don’t think that’s what will happen because I think the more people that can get to the poles, whether by mail or in person, and get their votes counted, then we’re going to have the kind of election we should have and then it’ll be a win both in the popular vote and in the electoral college.”
Mrs Clinton also said Mr Trump’s claims that mail-in ballots are fraudulent are “inaccurate”, and that he wants to stifle voters to win the election.
She said: “Republicans have two prongs to their strategy to try to win, the first is to try to prevent as many people who they think won’t vote for them from voting.
“So make the lines really long where young people vote or African-Americans vote or Hispanics vote.
“Try to make vote-by-mail as difficult as possible.
“Claim it’s fraudulent when indeed it’s not.
“In fact, that’s how Donald Trump votes and everybody who knows about vote-by-mail understands that.”
Mr Trump has frequently said that mail-in ballots are used to swing elections illegally, with his most recent claims coming on Twitter in May.
Mr Biden has also said to The Daily Show that Trump will resist leaving the White House.
In an interview with Mr Noah, the Democrat nominee claimed military personnel will need to remove Mr Trump from office.
He said: “I promise you, I am absolutely convinced, they will escort him from the White House with great dispatch.”
Mr Biden also shared Mrs Clinton’s concerns about vote suppression in November, and added: “This president is going to try to steal this election.
“This is a guy who said that all mail-in ballots are fraudulent while he sits behind the desk in the Oval Office and writes his mail-in ballot to vote in the primary.”
The White House has hit out at the Democrat’s claims, with press secretary Kayleigh McEnany laughing at the remarks.
She said: “It’s quite comical to watch the Democrat Party talk about not accepting the results of the election, because the only people who haven’t accepted the results of elections are people in the Democrat Party, like Hillary Clinton who’s blamed her loss on, I think it was something like two dozen different entities, never blaming herself.”

Deputy press secretary Ken Farnaso also savaged the Democrats, and added to Newsweek: “This is just another unsubstantiated liberal conspiracy theory of a sad and bitter person.
President Trump has been clear that the election will take place on November 3 and that he will accept the results.
“What reporters should ask though, is why Biden is so intent on fuelling confusion among voters at a time when they’re looking for normalcy.
“Every time Joe Biden opens his mouth he tries to divide Americans and spread confusion.
“For the good of the county, he should stop.”
