But money guru Martin has given followers a top tip when it comes to shopping on Black Friday and it's all down to preparation.
He says all shoppers should note down the prices of the items they are planning to buy now, so they can compare them on the big giveaway day to see if there really is a saving to be made.
By following his simple tip it should mean that many will avoid overspending.
He wrote on Twitter: "Quick Tip: Got anything you're planning to buy during #BlackFriday promotions?
"Go and do a price check now, so you have a benchmark to see if it is really cheaper when it is 'discounted'."
The tip will allow you to dodge low-quality deals and continue your search for the best priced items to get the most out of the event.
In more recent years, the popular event has seen brands launch discounts early and continue the offers all the way up until Cyber Monday.
