Meghan and Harry ‘enjoying royal benefits’ a ‘turn-off’ to celebs, says expert
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are dividing opinion in stateside star circles because they think their British royal status means they are 'above' their celebrity peers, an insider has claimed.
The couple's latest trip to New York last week reportedly won them few friends, according to a report by Heat magazine, as they spent much of their time filming scenes for their upcoming Netflix show.
While meeting with top officials from both the United Nations and the World Health Organisation for charity purposes, the princess was keen to ensure it was all captured on camera so it can be used for a biopic about her life.
A close source told Heat that this film would cover her childhood, acting career, her time in the UK as a royal, and how she and Harry now live. It is intended to give an account of their life from their own perspective.
Speaking on their behaviour during the trip, the unnamed individual added: “There were a lot of raised eyebrows in New York, and in Hollywood, too."
"A lot of people think that Meghan and Harry are trying to position themselves above most of their A-list peers. They seem to want to bask in their old royal status and enjoy all the attention and benefits that go with that, which is a turn-off for a lot of people."

"The feeling is that Americans are fond of Brits who are humble and not arrogant or hypocritical, so the Sussexes are walking a very fine line if they want to be popular in the US long-term.”
Meghan also took some flak online for wearing designer clothes on charity engagements with deprived children, including one at Harlem’s Mahalia Jackson school — where 94% of pupils are on free school meals — in which she rocked up warning a £4,274 cashmere coat, along with £1,231 trousers and £424 Manolo Blahnik shoes
