Met Police scrambled to horror shooting near children’s playground

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was shot at a playground in North London.

Police confirmed the brutal attack happened in Chestnuts Park, Harringey, at about 5pm, near the community centre.

A statement from the Met confirmed a man had been found with gunshot wounds close to the playground.

One local posted on social media: "Wife has been sending me texts after going for a walk – been told there's been a shooting in a kids' playground in Chestnut Park, near Manor House.

"Lots of helicopters in the sky. Stay safe out there, people."

The London Air Ambulance also attended the scene alongside other emergency vehicles.

The victim has been taken to hospital, with his condition unclear at this stage.

No arrests have been made yet, with witnesses asked to call call 101 reference 5708/mar11.
