William ‘planning to modernise royals when King’ and make them ‘more relatable’

Prince William is "already thinking" about the changes he'll make to the monarchy and is keen to "modernise" the firm, a source has claimed.

The Duke of Cambridge, 38, is second in line to the throne after his dad Prince Charles.

The Prince of Wales has long been rumoured to be keen to "slim down" the Royal Family when he becomes King, in a bid to sustain itg longevity.

Royal biographer Angela Levin believes he may even ditch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to “save costs”.

William is now thought to be coming up plans once the reins are handed over from his dad.

A source told US Weekly: “William is already thinking about the future of the monarchy and the changes he’ll make.

“While he respects protocol, he plans to modernise some aspects and is making it his mission to be more relatable than previous generations.”

“He and Kate [Middleton] have successfully created a healthy balance of openness [in the public eye] while maintaining the sense of mystery that surrounds the royal family and keeps us engaged.”

They added: “William accepts that being in the spotlight is part of the job, and is fine with it.

“He takes his future role as King and seriously and sees it as a great honour and privilege to be in his position. The Monarchy and his family will always come first.”

Earlier today, he and Kate launched an official YouTube account for their royals fans.

The announcement was made alongside a sweet clip of the couple both at work and play.

William and Kate will feature in exclusive clips posted on the popular video sharing site in the coming months.

In the sweet video that accompanied the announcement, Prince William can be heard telling Kate: "You've got to be careful of what you say now because these guys, they're filming everything."

"I know," Kate replies as she starts laughing.
